The Cairn Terrier, is a type of terrier original of Scotland. He was bred in Scotland to beat animal of prey in competitions. One became popular after his appearance in the great screen like “Totó”, the dog that accompanied Dorothy, the protagonist of the film “the wizard of Oz”.

The characteristics of the present race carefully are modeled according to which it owned his ancestor, terrier of the island of Skye of century XVII. One thinks that this dog was the base to develop to races like the Westie and the Scottie.

These dogs of short legs have a concise and wide semblante of disheveled aspect. Its heavy mantle of hair is generally grayish, brown color clearly or sand, although all the colors with the exception of the target are allowed. Active, commonly resistant, in glad alert status and, they are appreciated like mascots since they are relatively easy to train and houses small or apartments adapt or to since they do not require more than a vigorous long walk to the day.
