The Pudelpointer is one of the FCI German dog race recognized. The hunter and cynologist count von Zedlitz bred this dog from Pudeln and different pointer races. Despite excellent characteristics this race is rather rare also in Germany. As may is the case for many hunt and customs dogs only with dogs are bred, which took a work examination. Puppies are transferred only to humans, who lead this dog jagdlich. The name part „Pudel “comes from the old German puddeln and means „in the water planschen “; the name part of pointers comes from the English (ton of POINT = show, indicate).
